November meeting minutes

Secretary Notes For Country Kids 4-H Club

Date:  13 November 2016  Place: Bennetts

The meeting was called to order by: Ellie

Our American and 4-H pledges were led by: Adam

The thought for the day was:  your favorite winter activity            Announced by: Eliana

Our song leaders lead us in Down by the banks to start the meeting.

Roll call was read and we had  14 members present, 5 parents present and 0 visitors present.

The minutes of our last 4-H club meeting were read and approved by Marlis and seconded by McKenna.

Our treasurer reports $344.85 in our account.  Everyone also need to turn in their dues!!!

Committee Reports:
For 48 hours of 4-H we worked for 68 hours!!!  Carlie moved that we adopt 3 kids, the motion carried, Katie moved that we do $20 per kid.  A vote was taken, we are going shopping for 3 kids this year, and we are going to spend $20 per kid.
Awards: Avery, Carlie and Katie received red ribbons from state fair.  We received a blue ribbon on our window display, and we received a thank-you card from people on 79th for cleaning up the road ditches.  

Business: Carlie reminded everyone that she will be counting all motions made.  There was also a banquet reminder for anyone who wanted to go.  The December meeting was change to Saturday the 10th, because it is a Christmas party.

Project reports: Marlis got rabbits and finished an arts and crafts poster.  
The project of our meeting was Sign Language presented by Colter and Katie Bennett, and scrapbooking, presented by the club.

Our next meeting will be on 10 December 2016 at the Bock’s house

The project of our next meeting is crafts, presented by The Bock’s.

48 hours of 4-H community service projects - October 16, 2016

This year for 48 hours of 4-H, we decided to two service projects in one day.  We did the fall clean up at the City of Clearwater sign and picked up road ditches.

4-H Carnival October 2, 2016



Our club had two games this year, Country Kickin' It and Gone Fishin.  We made the games at the September meeting.  We had a good turnout at the carnival, and sold double the tickets that we sold last year.

Roll call was read and we had 16 members present,

Committee Reports:
Window display and carnival committees give a quick report. Contact has been made with Mize’s for display of 4-H poster.  Carnival and poster work will be our project for today.

Congratulations to the State Fair participants this year, Carlie, Katie, and Avery.

Nut sales discussion was let by Dirk with a discussion about 4-H Advisory board and how they help 4-H.

There was a motion made by Avery to hold the next meeting on October 16 at 1pm and do a service project.
The project of our meeting was prepare for Carnival and display and was presented by all members.
Our next meeting will be held on October 16  at  Schill’s with service project.

Avery moved that the meeting be adjourned.

Country Kids Meeting Minutes - August 28, 2016

The meeting was called to order by Katie

Our American and 4-H pledges were led by Eliana

The thought for the day is Favorite School Subject announced by Katie.

Roll call was read and we had 18 members present,
No tag-alongs present, 7 parents were present, there were no visitors  present.

Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved by Amelie & seconded by Ashlynn. There were no Corrections included.

Our Treasurer reports $267.20 in our account.

4-H project reports or awards presented
Carlie did a 4-H presentation about lefse   Ellie got in a photography magazine                                             
Joanna got in the newspaper for her shooting sports   Ashlynn got in the newspaper for her arts project.
County fair projects were discussed, each member told of a few projects that they entered.

Business:
A  motion was made by Carlie to participate in the 4-H window display.  The motion was 2nd by Avery.  Discussion was had and the club voted in favor of the window display.  A committee was formed of Carlie, Avery, Marlis, and Katie.       
A motion was made by Ellie to participate in the carnival.  McKenna seconded the motion. Discussion was had and the club passed the motion with a vote.
Avery made a motion to form a Carnival committee, seconded by Ashlynn. The motion passed.  Committee members include: Avery, Ashlynn, Amelie, Landon, Katie, McKenna, Ellie.
Crystal Clover for the carnival will be Ashlynn with the assistance of Carlie.
Carlie made a motion to continue meetings on Sunday’s at 3pm, Marlis 2nd the motion. Discussion was had that parental help is needed and sign up for projects and hosts. A vote was held and passed.
Ellie made a motion to hold elections at the September meeting, with new officers taking over in October.  Marlis seconded the motion.  Motion passed with a vote.

Our next meeting will be held on September 25  at the  Bock house.

Amelie moved that the meeting be adjourned.

Ashlynn seconded the motion.

We played a game called link hide and go seek led by Adam.

Pool Party with the Ninnescah Valley Club - Aug 11, 2016

Our club planned and organized a pool party for an end of the summer event.  We decided to invite the Ninnescah Valley Club to join us.  We had a picnic in the park before the pool opened.  We all had a lot of fun swimming and getting to know members of the other club better.






County Fair 2016

A number of our members had entries in the Sedgwick County Fair this year.  We had cooking, sewing, fiber arts, electricity, dog, reading, woodworking, buymanship, forestry, and chickens.  We also had several members volunteer as judge assistants.  Our club had a strong showing at our building watch time, with most of our members present.

The meeting was called to order by Katie.

Our American and 4-H pledges were led by Eliana.

The thought for the day is your favorite bug, announced by Katie. Each member announced their name and age for the group.

Roll call was read and we had 12 members present,
3 tag-alongs present, 9 parents were present & 7 visitors were present.

Minutes of the last meeting were read by Carlie and approved by Aiden & seconded by Marlys. No corrections were made.

Our Treasure report was $718.65 in our account.  

Committee Reports:
Please sign thank you for Clearwater City Council for the pizza party after our service event.
The club would still like to do a ditch clean up and a t-shirt making opportunity.  This discussion was tabled for next fall or later in the summer.

4-H project reports:
Ellie showed her chicken and explained some care and parts of the chicken.
Katie showed her dress for clothing construction.
Amelie showed her quilt she will enter in Fiber arts.

Business:
A motion was made Amelie, seconded by Aiden and voted on to have a pool party at the Clearwater Pool the 2nd week of August.  Avery will take lead to call pool and arrange possible opportunities.

Carlie made a motion to have a work day June 26th, Marlys seconded the motion.
Time is schedule for 3pm at the Schills with swimming after work is completed.

The project of our meeting was entomology presented by Madey and JP. Each member learned how to pin some insects and try it on their own.


Aiden moved that the meeting be adjourned, Carlie seconded the motion, vote completed and meeting was adjourned.

Clearwater sign maintenance and spring planting - May 1, 2016

Again this year, we worked with Lonnie to weed and plant flowers at the City of Clearwater sign.  Nine members 3 tag alongs, and 7 adult worked for just over an hour.  We pulled weeds in the rocks and dirt, planted potato vine and vincas, and added new mulch.  After we were done working, Lonnie took us all out for pizza at Pizza Hut!

The meeting was called to order by Avery, officer at large.

Our American and 4-H pledges were led by Ellie.

The thought for the day is what you did over spring break announced by Carlie.

We sang songs including Happy Birthday & BINGO, led by  Ashlynn.

Roll call was read and we had 7 members present,
2 tag-alongs present, 4 parents were present, no visitors were present.

Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved by Amelie & seconded by Ashlynn. No corrections were made

Our Treasure report was $520.15 in our account.  

Committee Reports:
We need ages of members for Tanganyka volunteer services.

Business:
Carlie made a motion to do a ditch cleanup on Sunday April 17th starting at 2:30pm at the Bock’s house.  Amelie seconded the motion. Motion was passed by vote.

The project of our meeting was  scrapbooking and was presented by Kippie.

Our next meeting will be held on April 24 at  Hutchinson’s Farm.

Country Kids Meeting Minutes Feb

Secretary Notes For Country Kids 4-H Club

Date:    Feb 21,  2016    Place : Bock’sShop

The meeting was called to order by Dirk.

Our American and 4-H pledges were led by Eliana.

An example meeting was presented by our 4-H adults to teach us more about parliamentary procedure.

The thought for the day is favorite hobby announced by Carlie.

We sang Happy Birthday, led by Ashlynn.
Roll call was read and we had 18 members present,
3 tag-alongs, 9 parents, & 5 visitors.

Minutes of the last meeting were read by Carlie, motion for approval was made by Ellie, and seconded by Amelie. Minutes were approved.

Our Treasurer, Joanna reports $743.46 in our account.  Member dues are still needed from some families.

Committee Reports:
A motion was made by Avery, for our club to continue helping with the maintenance of the Clearwater City Council with the Clearwater sign. Motion passed by unanimous decision.
A motion was made by Carlie, for the club to go to Tanganyika and help with food preparations, the motion was seconded by Ashlynn.  The motion was amended to create a committee to look into helping at Tanganyika. Committee members are Ashlynn, Avery, Ellie, Amelie, Adam, Landon, and Carlie.

Awards and Presentations:
Joanna was awarded 3rd place for shooting sports competition and her team placed 1st.
4-H Day awards were presented to:
Adam - Blue Ribbon for Piano
Coulter - Blue for Reading
Landon - Champion for Reading
Carlie - Champion for Demonstration Intermediate level
Katie - Reserve Champion for Demonstration Intermediate Level

Business:
  1. A motion was made by Ellie for the club to go to Urban Air as a club fun event. Ashlynn seconded the motion.
The motion was amended by Caleb to read “Country Kids will attend Urban Air and club will pay ½ of the fees. The motion was amended by Joanna to read that the club will pay for ⅔ of the fees. Discussion was had that the club plans to go to Urban Air March 5th from 4-6pm. Motion passed.
Family guests are welcome, admission will not be paid by club.  Members must notify Katie by March 1st if they plan to attend.
2. A motion was made by Amelie to make new Country Kids 4-H shirts.  The motion was seconded by Ashlynn. The vote passed and a committee was formed of Ashylnn, Avery, Landon, Macy, & Carlie to move forward with tshirt option and discussion with Suzanne.
3. A motion was made by Avery, seconded by Addie, to donate $25 of Country Kids funds to the 4-H Foundation. Discussion was had and motion passed by vote.

Our next meeting will be held April 3rd at the Bennetts. The project will be scrapbooking.  Please get your photos printed or sent to Katie by email.

The project of our meeting was practicing parliamentary procedure presented by Sarah.  The club members made snack mix using proper motions and amendments.
