For the
second year, we decided to promote 4-H by having a float in the Clearwater Fall
Festival parade. We designed the float
to go along with the festival theme, “Happy Trails to You”, celebrating 150
years of the Chisum Trail. We had 13
members and 7 leaders participate. We
really enjoyed throwing candy to the kids, dressing up like cowboys, and
working together to design and build the float.
We worked for 6 hours designing and creating the float, and an hour in
the parade or a total of 95 hours. It
was a wonderful community building event, and we are looking forward to
participating again in the future.

Kansas Food Bank - March 23, 2017
We volunteered at the Kansas Food Bank during spring break. While there, the younger kids packed apples into bags and unpacked
spaghetti-o’s and fruit bars. The older
girls worked to pack the weekend food packages.
We had a lot of fun working at the Food Bank and helping others. We learned that it is fun to work hard and
get a job done, especially when you are helping others. We had 13 members and 4 leaders working for 2
hours, for a total of 34 hours of service.
